Biography

Originally, from York, I am now based in the picturesque North Yorkshire village of Stokesley which acts as an ideal base to explore the rich landscapes and coasts of the north of England.

A Brief History

My love and interest in painting and drawing began in early childhood and developed further whilst studying at Middlesbrough college of Art. One of the most memorable moments from my early career as an artist came in 1977 when I was declared the North East winner for portraiture in a national TV Programme, 'Painting along with Nancy Kominsky'.
In recent years I have been able to turn my love of art into a career which not only includes the artistic and painting aspect but also the business, management and planning of my workshops, courses, exhibitions and breaks.

Memberships and Affiliations

I am a member of a number of art societies and groups, as well as being the programme secretary of the popular Leven Arts Society. I regularly exhibit both at local and national exhibitions, for example a number of my paintings were included as part of a national exhibition by the National Society of Women Artists (NSWA) at the Westminster Gallery Central Hall in London.

I am a fully qualified further education art teacher and take regular classes at Nunthorpe Further Education centre as well as running my own courses, both of which have proved extremely popular and as a result are quickly booked up.
