Since 2001 I have been teaching watercolour classes at Nunthorpe School (near Middlesbrough) and more recently I have been teaching my own day time courses in watercolour and pastel at Natures World (Acklam), Thirsk Town Hall, Stokesley Town Hall and Langdon Square (Coulby Newham).
My main aim is to help my students learn how to compose a picture, including planning the colour, selecting media and style to be used and then encouraging them to develop their own styles.

Explore the Delights of Using Soft Pastels
The day will start with a demonstration in pastel, followed by student’s painting, depending on the weather we can work outside or in the studio. Individual tuition, ending the day with a critique. Starts 10 am Finishes 4 – 5 pm,. Arrive for refreshments in the Lounge from 9:30am. Lunch in the Dining Room from 1-2pm. Please inform us of any dietary or mobility requirements prior to attending course.
